World Religions World Church
Notre Dame’s World Religions World Church (WRWC) program, located in the Department of Theology, is dedicated to the study of global religions and the global Church. Our faculty and students research world religions in all of their dimensions, in addition to the Church and its theological expressions in diverse cultural settings. Through our work, we seek to serve our students, the Church, and society.
In our work we follow the counsel of Pope Francis (in his exhortation Joy of the Gospel): “An attitude of openness in truth and in love must characterize the dialogue with the followers of non-Christian religions.” WRWC offers Ph.D. and MTS programs in the Department of Theology.
In addition, we run regular conferences around the world and at Notre Dame, publish books (including Finding Beauty in the Other, Crossroads, 2019), and collaborate on the publication of the journal Islam and Christian Muslim Relations.
Our podcast, Minding Scripture, explores questions which believers and sceptics alike ask about the Bible and the Qur'an.
